From his upcoming album ‘Twelve Carat Toothache,’ he performed ‘Cooped Up’ and the unreleased song ‘Love/Hate Letter to Alcohol.’
Last night (May 14), Post Malone performed on Saturday Night Live alongside Fleet Foxes and Roddy Ricch — watch the performances below.
‘Cooped Up,’ a recent Ricch collaboration, and unreleased song ‘Love/Hate Letter To Alcohol,’ both from the rapper’s upcoming album ‘Twelve Carat Toothache,’ were performed during the Selena Gomez-hosted show.
Ricch joined Posty on stage with candlelight for ‘Cooped Up,’ while Fleet Foxes members formed a semi-circle around the rapper for ‘Love/Hate Letter To Alcohol,’ providing choral backup vocals.
Post Malone is a longstanding fan of the band, and he recently teased that ‘Love/Hate Letter To Alcohol’ might feature Fleet Foxes frontman Robin Pecknold. Post described him as “the most gorgeous fucking vocalist, the most magnificent fucking person.” “One of my favourite bands is Fleet Foxes.”
The 47th season of Saturday Night Live will wrap up next weekend (May 21), with musical guest Japanese Breakfast and presenter Natasha Lyonne of Russian Doll and Orange Is the New Black.
Following the release of their latest album, ‘WE,’ Arcade Fire appeared as musical guests on the May 7 broadcast of Saturday Night Live. In light of a recently leaked draught decision in support of overturning Roe v. Wade, the 1973 ruling that made abortion lawful on a federal level in the United States, they used the occasion to speak out about abortion rights.
‘Twelve Carat Toothache,’ Post Malone’s first album since ‘Hollywood’s Bleeding,’ is due to be released next month.
So far, the rapper has released two singles from the album: ‘One Right Now,’ which he collaborated on with The Weeknd in November, and ‘Cooped Up,’ which he released this month. He posted excerpts of a host of other collaborations set to appear on the album on Instagram Live last month, including songs with Doja Cat and The Kid LAROI.
