With their surprise reunion at the music festival, the group, which split in 2016, played for the first time in seven years.
The 88rising collective revealed one huge surprise at their Head in the Clouds Forever concert at Coachella’s first weekend: a reunion from the pioneering and beloved K-pop girl group 2NE1. It was the first time the quartet had performed together since 2015. Watch everything unfold in the video below.
The members of 2NE1—Bom, CL, Dara, and Minzy—disbanded the group in 2016. The group’s track “I Am the Best,” released in 2011, became an international success, eventually appearing in a Microsoft ad and being sung at the 2018 Winter Olympics closing ceremony. The group’s final album, Crush, was released in 2014, and a final single, “Goodbye,” was released in 2017.
